1st Touch up (6-8 wks)
First touch-up session for permanent makeup Offered on-site by Charm Brows & Beauty
Booking for this service continues on the Charm Brows & Beauty website (opens in a new tab).
About this service
The first touch-up is scheduled 6 to 8 weeks after your initial permanent makeup appointment, and it's a required part of the process rather than an optional extra.
Offered on-site by Charm Brows & Beauty.
Skin never heals perfectly evenly. Some strokes retain pigment beautifully, others lift; the colour settles lighter than it looked on day one; and small refinements to shape and density only become obvious once everything is healed. This appointment fixes all of that.
Most people find their brows only really look 'finished' after the touch-up.
What's included
- Assessment of how your brows healed and retained pigment
- Any shape or symmetry refinements agreed with you
- Colour adjustment where the tone healed lighter, warmer or cooler than intended
- Numbing for comfort
- Pigment added where retention was patchy
- Aftercare product and instructions
What to expect at your appointment
Allow about an hour. Your artist looks closely at how the brows healed, discusses anything you'd like adjusted, and agrees the plan with you.
Numbing is applied and pigment added where needed. Healing follows the same pattern as the first appointment, though usually milder — darker, flaking, faint, then settled.
Who it's best for
Everyone who has had microblading, ombré or combo brows 6 to 8 weeks earlier. Book it at the same time as your first appointment so the timing works.
Caring for it at home
Keep the area dry for the first 7 to 10 days: no soaking, swimming, saunas, steam or heavy sweating, and no makeup over the brows. Don't pick or scratch as the area flakes — pulling the flakes off takes pigment with them.
Apply the aftercare product exactly as your artist directs, sleep on your back where possible, and keep the area out of direct sun. Once healed, sunscreen is the single biggest factor in how long your brows keep their colour.
Tips from our stylists
- Don't leave it much longer than 8 weeks; retention work is easier while the pigment is fresh
- Come with a list of anything you'd like adjusted — this is the moment to ask
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine and fish oil for 24 hours beforehand
- Skip retinoids on the area for two weeks either side
- Bring photos of your brows at their best if you took any during healing
Common questions
- Is the touch-up really necessary?
- Yes. Skin heals unevenly, and this session evens out retention, refines the shape and adjusts the colour. It's part of the process.
- What if I want them different?
- This is the ideal time to adjust shape, density or tone. Tell your artist what you'd change.
- What if I miss the 6-8 week window?
- Contact us — the work is still possible, but longer gaps may mean more is needed. Don't leave it months.
- How long does it take?
- About an hour.
