About this service
The facial massage and lymphatic drainage treatment with two additional techniques layered in: wood therapy, which uses shaped wooden tools to work the tissue more deeply than hands alone, and gua sha, a stone-tool technique that sculpts along the contours of the face and encourages drainage.
Together they give a more pronounced sculpting and de-puffing effect than massage alone, and a longer-lasting one. Everything is still entirely manual — no actives, no devices, nothing to react to.
Every treatment starts with a consultation. Please tell us about any medication, recent treatments, allergies, or if you're pregnant, as some steps may need to be adjusted.
What's included
- Consultation about tension, puffiness and sensitivities
- Gentle cleanse
- Facial massage through the face, jaw, temples and scalp
- Lymphatic drainage sequence
- Wood therapy tools to work the tissue more deeply
- Gua sha sculpting along the facial contours
- Neck and décolleté included, then moisturiser and SPF
What to expect at your appointment
Allow an hour. Your esthetician begins with hands-on massage and drainage, then introduces the wooden tools, which apply firmer, deeper pressure than hands can.
Gua sha follows, worked with a stone tool along the jaw, cheekbones and brow. The neck and décolleté are included throughout. Moisturiser and sunscreen finish.
Some temporary pinkness where the tools have worked is normal. Your face will look noticeably more sculpted and less puffy.
Who it's best for
Puffiness, fluid retention, jaw tension and anyone wanting the most pronounced non-invasive sculpting effect. Not suitable with active infection, recent facial injectables or surgery, or a lymphatic condition — check with your doctor. Tell your esthetician if you've had injectables recently.
Caring for it at home
Drink water and go easy on salt and alcohol that evening. Any pinkness from the tools settles within an hour or two.
No restrictions otherwise. Sleeping with your head slightly elevated helps maintain the effect.
