About this service
R3 Therapeel is a layered peel protocol designed to resurface while simultaneously supporting the skin barrier, so you get meaningful renewal with less irritation than a single strong acid application.
The products are applied in stages, each building on the last, which lets your esthetician tailor the depth as they go and stop at the right point for your skin rather than committing to one fixed strength.
Expect light flaking for a few days and noticeably smoother, brighter skin afterwards.
Every treatment starts with a skin consultation. Please tell us about any medication, recent treatments, allergies, or if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, as some steps may need to be changed or left out.
What's included
- Consultation and skin analysis
- Cleanse and preparation
- Layered peel protocol applied in stages and monitored
- Barrier-supporting and calming products
- Hydrating finish with mineral SPF
- Detailed aftercare instructions
What to expect at your appointment
Allow 45 minutes. Your esthetician preps the skin and applies the protocol in layers, checking with you between each and deciding whether to continue.
Tingling and warmth are normal. Calming, barrier-supporting products and sunscreen finish the treatment. Skin is pink initially and flakes lightly for around three to five days.
Who it's best for
Uneven texture, pigmentation, fine lines and dull skin, particularly if standard peels have felt too harsh. Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with isotretinoin use, on active cold sores, or on broken or sunburnt skin.
Caring for it at home
No picking at flaking skin. No makeup for 24 hours, no acids or retinoids for a week, and no gym, sauna, steam or swimming for 48 hours.
Sunscreen daily without exception — sun exposure on freshly resurfaced skin causes pigmentation and undoes the result. Use a gentle cleanser and moisturise generously while flaking.
Tips from our stylists
- Book at least two weeks before an event
- Stop retinoids a week before and a week after
- Never pick at peeling skin
- A course of three to six gives cumulative results
- Sunscreen every day, indoors and out, while the skin recovers
Common questions
- How is it different from a standard peel?
- It's applied in layers with barrier support built in, so depth can be tailored as it goes and irritation is usually lower.
- Will I peel?
- Light flaking for around three to five days is typical.
- How many treatments do I need?
- Three to six, spaced two to four weeks apart.
- Can I have it while pregnant?
- No. Tell us and we'll recommend a hydrating alternative.
