Regrowth Touch-up
Refresh roots and blend with existing color
Request This ServiceAbout this service
A regrowth touch-up colours the new growth at your roots and blends it into the colour already in your hair. Only the regrowth is processed, which keeps your lengths from being coloured over and over again — repeated overlapping is what makes coloured hair look dull and feel dry.
Your stylist matches the formula to your existing colour, applies it precisely along the regrowth area, and blends the join so there's no visible line.
What's included
- Colour matched to your existing shade
- Precise application to the regrowth area only
- Blending at the join so there's no line
- Shampoo, conditioning and blow-dry finish
- Advice on timing your next touch-up
What to expect at your appointment
Allow about an hour. Your stylist checks your regrowth and matches the formula to the colour in your lengths, then applies it section by section along the roots.
Once developed, your hair is rinsed, conditioned and blow-dried.
Who it's best for
Anyone with an established colour who needs the roots refreshed — including grey coverage. It's the standard maintenance appointment between bigger colour services.
Caring for it at home
Use colour-safe, sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner and wash in cooler water — heat opens the cuticle and colour fades faster. Avoid washing for a day or two after colouring if you can.
Most people need a touch-up every four to six weeks, sooner if you have a high contrast between your natural colour and your colour result.
Tips from our stylists
- Book before the regrowth gets wide — narrow regrowth is easier to blend seamlessly
- Don't try to fill the gap with box dye; it complicates the next appointment
- Ask about a gloss at the same visit if your lengths look faded
- If grey is coming through quickly, talk to your stylist about a shade that grows out more softly
Common questions
- How often do I need a root touch-up?
- Every four to six weeks for most people, depending on how fast your hair grows and how much contrast there is.
- Does it colour my whole head?
- No — only the regrowth, which protects your lengths from repeated processing.
- Will it cover grey?
- Yes, a root touch-up can give full grey coverage at the roots. Tell your stylist how much grey you have.
- How long does it take?
- About an hour.
