About this service

A facial built entirely around not provoking the skin. There's no steam, no aggressive exfoliation and no extractions unless your skin can comfortably take them — instead the focus is on barrier support, calming actives and reducing visible redness.

Sensitive and rosacea-prone skin is usually made worse by well-meaning treatment. This appointment is deliberately gentle, and the products are chosen for what they leave out as much as what they contain.

Rosacea is a medical condition; this facial is intended to soothe and support the skin, not to treat it. Please see a doctor or dermatologist for diagnosis and management.

Every facial starts with a skin consultation, and your esthetician will adjust the products and steps to what your skin actually needs on the day. Please tell us about any medication, recent treatments, allergies, or if you're pregnant, as some products and steps may need to be changed or left out.

What's included

  • Careful consultation about your triggers, flare pattern and current products
  • Gentle, fragrance-conscious cleanse
  • Calming, barrier-supporting serums
  • Soothing mask to reduce visible redness
  • Barrier-repair moisturiser and mineral SPF
  • Advice on identifying and avoiding your triggers

What to expect at your appointment

Allow an hour. Your esthetician spends real time on the consultation, because knowing your triggers determines the whole treatment.

Everything is applied gently, with no steam and no vigorous massage. Calming products are layered, followed by a soothing mask, barrier moisturiser and mineral sunscreen.

Some flushing during a facial is normal for reactive skin and settles quickly.

Who it's best for

Sensitive, reactive, redness-prone and rosacea-prone skin, and anyone whose skin has been over-treated and needs rebuilding rather than stripping. Not appropriate during an active flare with broken or weeping skin — please reschedule and see a doctor.

Caring for it at home

Keep everything simple for a few days: gentle cleanser, barrier moisturiser, mineral sunscreen, nothing new. Avoid heat, hot showers, alcohol and spicy food that evening if those are triggers for you.

Long term, mineral sunscreen every day does more for redness-prone skin than almost anything else. Introduce new products one at a time so you can identify what your skin dislikes.

Tips from our stylists

  • Bring your current products so your esthetician can spot likely irritants
  • Note your flare triggers before your appointment — heat, alcohol, stress, certain products
  • Reschedule if your skin is actively flaring or broken
  • Use mineral sunscreen daily
  • Introduce new products one at a time, never several at once
  • See a doctor for rosacea diagnosis and management

Common questions

Is this facial safe for rosacea?
It's designed to be gentle and calming, with no steam or aggressive exfoliation. Rosacea itself should be managed by a doctor — this supports the skin rather than treating the condition.
Will my face go red during it?
Some flushing is normal for reactive skin and settles quickly afterwards.
Are there extractions?
Only if your skin can comfortably take them, and often not at all.
What if I'm mid-flare?
Please reschedule. Broken or actively flaring skin shouldn't be treated.
