About this service

Emergency saline removal is performed within 24 hours of a permanent makeup tattoo, while the pigment is still fresh and sitting near the surface.

Offered on-site by Charm Brows & Beauty.

Timing is everything. Fresh pigment lifts far more readily than settled pigment, so a single emergency session can remove a great deal more than a standard removal session would months later.

If you've just had permanent makeup done — anywhere — and you know it's wrong, contact us immediately rather than waiting to see whether it settles. The window is genuinely 24 hours.

What's included

  • Urgent assessment of the fresh work and what can be lifted
  • Numbing for comfort
  • Saline solution worked into the freshly pigmented area
  • Aftercare product and detailed healing instructions
  • Advice on next steps, including any further sessions

What to expect at your appointment

Allow about an hour and fifteen minutes. Your artist assesses the fresh work and explains what this session can realistically achieve.

After numbing, saline is worked into the area to draw the fresh pigment out. The area will scab over the following week and the pigment leaves as the scabs come away.

As with all removal: don't pick.

Who it's best for

Anyone within 24 hours of a permanent makeup application they don't want — wrong shape, wrong colour, or simply not what was agreed. Call as soon as you know. Not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Caring for it at home

Keep the area completely dry for 7 to 10 days. Let it scab and flake naturally and do not pick — the pigment comes away with the scabs.

No makeup, swimming, sauna, steam, heavy sweating or sun exposure on the area. Apply the aftercare product as directed. If a further session is needed, allow at least 8 weeks.

Tips from our stylists

  • Contact us immediately — this treatment only works within 24 hours
  • Don't wait to see if it settles; the window closes fast
  • Don't pick the scabs during healing
  • Bring any information you have about the pigment used
  • A further standard removal session may still be needed; your artist will advise

Common questions

Why does it have to be within 24 hours?
Fresh pigment sits near the surface and lifts far more easily. After that it settles, and removal becomes a longer, multi-session process.
Will one session remove all of it?
It removes considerably more than a later session would, but a further session is sometimes needed. Your artist will assess.
Can you do this if the work was done elsewhere?
Yes. Contact us as soon as possible with details of what was done.
How long does it take?
About an hour and fifteen minutes.
