About this service
Upper lip waxing removes fine or coarse hair from the top lip in a few minutes, leaving skin smooth and makeup sitting more evenly.
It's one of the quickest treatments we offer and one of the most frequently requested — the area is small, the wax is applied in a couple of strips, and it's done.
Offered on-site by Charm Brows & Beauty.
What's included
- Skin cleansed and prepared
- Wax applied and removed from the upper lip
- Tweezing of any remaining hairs
- Soothing product applied afterwards
- Aftercare advice
What to expect at your appointment
Allow about 10 minutes. Your therapist cleanses the area, applies wax in sections and removes it, then checks for strays and soothes the skin.
The upper lip is a sensitive area, so expect brief discomfort and some redness for up to an hour or so afterwards.
Who it's best for
Anyone with unwanted upper lip hair, whether fine or coarse. If you use retinoids, acid exfoliants or acne medication such as isotretinoin, tell your therapist beforehand — waxing may not be suitable.
Caring for it at home
Leave the area alone for 24 hours: no makeup over it, no exfoliating, no sauna, steam or sun exposure, and no active skincare on the area.
Some people get small bumps for a few hours; keeping the area clean and not touching it helps. Most people return every three to four weeks.
Tips from our stylists
- Let the hair grow a couple of weeks so the wax has something to grip
- Pause retinoids and acid exfoliants beforehand — and tell your therapist
- Avoid makeup on the area for 24 hours
- Book it before a facial rather than after
- Redness is normal and usually settles within an hour
Common questions
- How long does it last?
- Usually three to four weeks.
- Does it make the hair grow back thicker?
- No. Waxing removes hair from the root; it doesn't change the hair's thickness.
- Will my skin be red?
- Some redness is normal on the upper lip and typically settles within an hour.
- How long does it take?
- About 10 minutes.
