About this service

A women's haircut at Artiste Hair Studio starts with a conversation, not a pair of scissors. Your stylist looks at how your hair actually behaves — its texture, density, growth patterns and any cowlicks — and talks through the shape you want and how much time you're realistically willing to spend on it each morning.

From there the cut is built around your face shape and lifestyle. Whether that means a soft, grown-out shape you can air-dry, a sharper line that frames your jaw, or layers that finally let thick hair move, the aim is a haircut that still looks like itself six weeks from now.

What's included

  • A consultation about your hair, your routine and the shape you want
  • Shampoo and scalp cleanse at the basin
  • Precision cut tailored to your texture and face shape
  • Blow-dry and finish so you can see how the shape falls
  • Guidance on styling it yourself and when to book your next cut

What to expect at your appointment

Plan for around an hour. Your stylist will start with your hair dry so they can see its natural fall and how it sits when you wear it normally, then take you to the basin for a shampoo.

The cut itself is done in sections, checking balance as they go. Afterwards your hair is dried and finished so you can see the finished shape and ask questions before you leave.

Who it's best for

Anyone who wants a haircut designed around their own hair rather than a picture — whether you're keeping your current length and just refreshing the shape, or making a bigger change. If you're growing your hair out, regular shaping keeps the ends healthy without losing length.

Caring for it at home

Use a shampoo and conditioner suited to your hair type, and comb conditioner through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the scalp. Let hair dry a little before you take a brush to it, and use a heat protectant before hot tools.

Most women's cuts hold their shape for six to eight weeks, sooner if you have a short or heavily layered shape.

Tips from our stylists

  • Come in with your hair styled the way you usually wear it — it tells your stylist far more than freshly washed hair
  • Bring photos, including ones you don't like; knowing what to avoid is just as useful
  • Be honest about your morning routine so the cut suits the time you actually have
  • Book your next appointment before you leave if you're on a short shape — the shape is what goes first

Common questions

How long does a women's haircut take?
Allow about an hour, including the consultation, shampoo, cut and blow-dry finish.
Why is the price a range?
The price reflects the length, density and time your hair needs. Your stylist will confirm the price with you before starting.
Can I have a cut on the same visit as colour?
Yes — let us know when you request your appointment so we can allow enough time for both.
How often should I come back?
Every six to eight weeks keeps most shapes looking intentional. Very short or precise cuts benefit from every four to six weeks.
