About this service

Extensions need a different hand than natural hair. The attachment points have to be protected, the tools kept away from bonds or tapes, and the styling worked so the extension hair and your own hair move as one rather than sitting in separate layers.

Your stylist styles your existing extensions — blow drying, curling, straightening or shaping them into a finished look — while working carefully around the attachments.

What's included

  • Assessment of your extension type and attachment points
  • Styling worked around bonds, tapes, wefts or micro-links
  • Blending so extension hair and your own hair move together
  • Heat protection and appropriate tool temperatures
  • Advice on brushing, washing and sleeping in extensions

What to expect at your appointment

Allow about an hour. Tell your stylist what type of extensions you have and roughly when they were fitted, so they know where the attachments sit.

Your hair is styled in sections, working around the attachment points, with the extension hair and your natural hair blended so the finish looks seamless.

Who it's best for

Anyone who already wears extensions — tape-in, weft, micro-link, keratin bond or clip-in — and wants them styled properly for an event or simply to look their best. This service styles existing extensions; it does not fit new ones.

Caring for it at home

Brush extensions with a soft-bristle or looped brush, starting at the ends and holding the hair above the attachment to take tension off the bonds. Keep conditioner and oils away from the attachment points, and braid or loosely tie your hair before sleeping to avoid tangling at the roots.

Extension hair doesn't renew itself, so heat protectant matters more than ever.

Tips from our stylists

  • Tell your stylist what type of extensions you have and when they were fitted
  • Support the hair above the bond when brushing to protect your own hair
  • Keep conditioner off the attachment points — it loosens tapes and bonds
  • Book styling before an event rather than trying to curl extensions yourself
  • Ask your stylist which brush they use; the right one makes daily care much easier
