About this service

Wet cutting is the classic approach: hair is shampooed, combed through and cut while damp, when it's at its most uniform and easiest to section cleanly. That control is exactly why it produces such precise lines.

Because damp hair sits evenly, your stylist can measure and match sections accurately — which makes it the natural choice for blunt ends, one-length bobs, sharp perimeters and structured graduated shapes.

What's included

  • Consultation about the shape and how sharp you want the lines
  • Shampoo and conditioning at the basin
  • Precision cut through damp, sectioned hair
  • Clean, matched perimeter and balanced sections
  • Blow-dry finish and styling guidance

What to expect at your appointment

Allow about 45 minutes. Your stylist will look at your dry hair first, then shampoo it at the basin.

The cut is worked through damp hair in even sections, with the perimeter checked and matched before your hair is dried and finished so you can see the finished lines.

Who it's best for

Straight and lightly wavy hair, and any shape that depends on a clean line — blunt ends, bobs, structured graduation and precise fringes. It's also the practical choice when you want your hair washed and styled as part of the appointment.

Caring for it at home

Blunt, precise shapes look their best when the ends stay in good condition, so keep conditioner on the mid-lengths and ends and use heat protectant before smoothing with hot tools.

Sharp lines soften as they grow, so book every six to eight weeks — sooner for a short blunt bob.

Tips from our stylists

  • Mention if your hair shrinks up as it dries, so your stylist can allow for it
  • Blunt lines show growth clearly — book slightly more often if you like them crisp
  • Ask for a demonstration of how to dry the ends under; it makes a real difference to blunt shapes
  • If your hair is curly, ask about dry cutting instead

Common questions

What's the difference between wet and dry cutting?
Wet cutting is done on damp hair, which sits evenly and allows very precise, matched lines. Dry cutting is done on dry hair so your stylist can see your natural texture and movement.
Which should I choose?
Wet cutting suits sharp lines and straighter hair; dry cutting suits texture and curl. Your stylist will advise if you're unsure.
Does my hair get washed?
Yes — the shampoo is part of a wet cut, and your hair is dried and finished at the end.
How long does it take?
About 45 minutes.
